Opportunity Scholarship Information
If your child is zoned for or attends, Catalina Elementary, Pineloch Elementary or Washington Shores Elementary then your student is eligible for an Opportunity Scholarship.
Opportunity Scholarship Transfers are for students whose zoned school has been identified as underperforming by the Florida Department of Education (FDOE). Parents may choose the option for their student to remain at the same school, remain at the zoned school with tutoring, be transferred to another higher performing OCPS school, or transfer to another School District within the State of Florida. A transfer form is required to be completed for each student online if the parent decides to participate in the opportunity scholarship.
Program details:
- OCPS provides transportation for students living two (2) or more miles from the school
- An eligible student may use the Opportunity Scholarship to continue attending in the higher-performing public school feeder pattern until the student graduates from high school.
- Individual applications must be completed for each student affected by clicking on the following link: Opportunity Scholarship Application
- Once you have received the notification letter you must withdraw from the zoned school and register at the receiving school
- If you select the transfer and are zoned for Catalina Elementary your student will transfer to Lake Como School
- If you select the transfer and are zoned for Pineloch Elementary your student will transfer to Dover Shores Elementary
- If you select the transfer and are zoned for Washington Shores Elementary your student will transfer to Pershing K-8
