CASAS (for ESOL students)

CASAS assessments measure reading comprehension, mathematics skills, listening comprehension, writing, speaking and critical thinking and problem solving skills. CASAS is used to place, diagnose, monitor and certify a student's level of proficiency. CASAS provides learner-centered curriculum management, assessment and evaluation systems in education and training programs throughout the public and private sectors. CASAS is used nationwide in adult basic education (ABE), English as a second language (ESOL), workplace literacy, family literacy, and employment and training to meet Workforce Investment Act (WIA) requirements.

TABE (Test of Adult Basic Education)

The Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) is a timed battery of tests covering reading, math and language skills and is required by the Florida Department of Education for many GED-prep and career courses.
