National Awareness Months

NATIONAL AWARENESS MONTHS

Every year, colleges and universities nationwide come together to recognize National Awareness Month. During this time, we focus on important topics like Dating Violence, Domestic Violence, Stalking, Sexual Assault, and Campus Safety. These discussions are meant to create awareness and provide support for anyone who may need it. We also take the opportunity to talk about the campus safety resources available at our institution.

If needed, on- and off-campus resources are listed below for students and employees.

January is National Stalking Awareness Month

National Stalking Awareness Month serves as a reminder of the serious nature of stalking behaviors and their impact on victims. Stalking affects millions of people each year and can escalate to more serious crimes. During this month, we focus on education and resources designed to help recognize and respond to stalking situations.

We encourage everyone to learn about the warning signs of stalking, safety planning strategies, and available resources both on campus and in the community for those experiencing stalking behaviors.

February is Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month

Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month highlights the importance of healthy relationships among young people. This initiative educates students about recognizing the signs of unhealthy relationships and promotes strategies for building respectful partnerships.

Throughout the month, we offer educational opportunities, resources, and support services to help students identify the warning signs of dating violence and learn how to maintain healthy boundaries in their relationships.

Kristin's Krusade Joins Clery Center as a Dating Violence Prevention Initiative

Kristin's Krusade is a powerful dating violence prevention initiative that has partnered with the Clery Center to raise awareness about relationship violence on college campuses. We provide an optional short film that honors Kristin's memory.

This resource focuses on educating viewers about dating violence and offers practical strategies for bystander intervention as well as guidance on accessing support resources. Additionally, it features examples of healthy communication and positive relationship behaviors. Click the image to learn more. Closed captioning is available.

April is National Sexual Assault Awareness Month

National Sexual Assault Awareness Month is dedicated to raising public awareness about sexual violence and educating communities on how to prevent it. During this month, we focus on consent education, bystander intervention training, and supporting survivors.

Our campus hosts various events, including workshops, panel discussions, and resource fairs to promote education and encourage dialogue about this important topic. We also highlight the resources available to survivors both on campus and in the surrounding community.

September is National Campus Safety Awareness Month

National Campus Safety Awareness Month focuses on creating safe, supportive learning environments for all students. This initiative addresses a range of safety concerns, from physical security to mental health support systems.

Throughout September, we offer programs and resources designed to help students understand campus safety protocols, emergency procedures, and available support services. We also emphasize the importance of community involvement in maintaining a safe campus environment.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month

Domestic Violence Awareness Month calls attention to the impact of domestic violence and promotes resources for survivors. During October, we focus on education about healthy relationships, warning signs of abuse, and pathways to safety.

Our campus offers support services, educational opportunities and community connections for those affected by domestic violence. We are committed to fostering an environment where everyone feels safe to seek help and support.
