Substitute Teacher 18 Hour In-service Training

Course Description

The 18 Hour In-service Training course is a study of various topics and strategies used in education. This course consist of six modules designed to equip substitute teachers for promoting a positive teaching and learning environment. Registration for this course is open to OCPS classified employees (except for custodians, food services personnel, and bus drivers) and to Kelly Services employees. The following modules will be covered during the course:

• Module 1 – Your Day as a Substitute
• Module 2 – Communication Skills
• Module 3 – Diversity/Learning Styles
• Module 4 – Management of Student Conduct
• Module 5 – Blood Borne Pathogens
• Module 6 – Lesson Planning
