Join Digital Video Technology student Jaden Lewis for a behind-the-scenes tour of Orange Technical College’s East Campus, where students train in professional media production environments designed to reflect real-world workflows.
In the video, Jaden walks viewers through the Digital Video Technology program’s purpose-built spaces, highlighting how students collaborate, produce, and edit content using industry-standard tools. From concept development to post-production, the program emphasizes hands-on experience at every stage of the production process.
Podcast Production and Collaboration Spaces
The tour begins in the program’s pre-production and podcast production areas, where students brainstorm ideas, plan projects, and record a wide range of student-led podcasts. These spaces are designed for teamwork and creativity, allowing students to take on real production roles while learning audio and video fundamentals.
Students Asa and Jaila share examples of podcasts produced in the studio, covering topics from campus news to sports and entertainment. The variety of projects reflects how students are encouraged to explore different formats and develop confidence both on and off camera.
Professional Editing and Post-Production
The tour continues into the post-production area, where students refine their projects using professional-grade editing bays. Here, they learn how to manage audio levels, add graphics, and polish final content using workflows similar to those found in broadcast and digital media environments.
The program also features state-of-the-art equipment, including DJI Osmo cameras with AI tracking, giving students hands-on experience with tools commonly used in modern content creation.
Learning from Industry Professionals
Digital Video Technology instructor Darran Caudle shares how the program blends technical instruction with teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills. With a strong focus on hands-on learning, students gain experience that prepares them for careers in media production, broadcasting, and related fields.
Together, the facilities, equipment, and instruction at East Campus provide students with an immersive learning environment where creativity and technical skill development go hand in hand.
