General Definition Sheet of Financial Assistance Orange Technical College 2025–2026

Financial aid can be daunting. These definitions will assist you to make the process easier.

  • Provides locally planned job training and placement services for individuals who are unemployed or underemployed. Must meet with the CareerSource Central Florida Counselor to determine eligibility.

  • For shared enrollment students who excel in a technical program during high school and are recommended by the CTE program instructor to complete their technical training program as an adult student (one semester tuition only).

  • Federal Pell Grant provided by the U.S. Department of Education. Must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to determine eligibility. Go to the Financial Aid office to pick up a FAFSA worksheet then go to the Federal Student Aid website to apply online.

  • State scholarships that may be available for graduating seniors. To learn more about each of these state scholarships go to: Florida Department of Education Office of Student Financial Assistance.

  • These funds are derived from contributions paid by the students’ parent. Present the Florida Prepaid College Fund ID card to the Florida Prepaid Business Office.

  • State funded program for certificate-seeking students. Must demonstrate need (complete a FAFSA form) and meet Orange Technical College Campuses criteria for eligibility.

  • A contract between the student and the Business Office. Tuition and supply fees are paid in increments according to the Business Office. Must demonstrate need (complete a FAFSA form).

  • The Bureau of State Approving Agency for Veterans Training has approved many of the certificate training programs offered at the Orange Technical College campuses. See the Veterans Certifying Official in the Financial Aid Office.

  • The Bureau of State Approving Agency for Veterans will direct the Veterans with disabilities to Vocational Rehabilitation for assistance in attending training programs.

  • Provides assistance for individuals who have disabilities that prevent employment. The Vocational Rehabilitation Agency determines eligibility.

Florida Pre Paid College Fund

These funds are derived from contributions paid by the students’ parent. Present the Florida Pre Paid College Fund I.D. card to the Business Office. (Florida Prepaid website)

Florida Public Postsecondary Career Education Student Assistance Grant Program

State funded program for certificate seeking students. Must demonstrate need (complete a FAFSA form) and meet Orange Technical College Campuses criteria for eligibility.

Florida Work Experience Program

State funded program for certificate seeking students. Must demonstrate need (complete a FAFSA form) and meet Orange Technical College Campuses criteria for eligibility.

Horatio Alger National Career & Technical Scholarship Program

Installment Contract

A contract between the student and the Business Office. Tuition and supply fees are paid in increments according to the Business Office payment schedule. Must demonstrate need (complete a FAFSA form).
