Noble Thomas is one of Orange Technical College’s apprenticeship success stories—an alumnus who returned to serve as an instructor and leader within the Florida Electrical Apprenticeship Training (FEAT) program. His path began early, when he shadowed an electrician in ninth grade through a school-based experience that introduced him to the possibilities of hands-on career training.
After graduating high school, Thomas entered the workforce in food service. While those roles provided valuable experience, he found the work unfulfilling and kept thinking about the career pathway he had glimpsed in that earlier shadowing opportunity. That reflection ultimately led him to Orange Technical College and the FEAT program, where he began training as an electrical apprentice and transitioned into work as a Helper and Electrical Mechanic—learning on the job while advancing through structured technical education.
Thomas credits the quality of the training he received through OTC and FEAT as a foundation for his career growth. After completing the program and earning his license, he advanced at Bright Future Electric—moving through roles including superintendent and project manager before becoming department manager. Today, he leads commercial operations and manages a team of 120 people.
With a commitment to strengthening the same pathway that helped launch his career, Thomas returned to FEAT as an instructor to help train the next generation of electricians. He also served as President of the FEAT Board, supporting the program’s continued success and ensuring apprenticeship remains a strong option for Orange County students who want to build skills, earn while they learn, and pursue long-term career advancement.
