CASAS (for ESOL students)
Students interested in English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) classes take the CASAS (Comprehensive Adult Student Assessment Systems) assessment for placement. CASAS is used to measure reading and listening comprehension. CASAS is used to place, diagnose, monitor and certify a student's level of English language proficiency. CASAS is not a pass or fail test. This multiple choice assessment monitors student progress throughout the ESOL program.
TABE (Test of Adult Basic Education)
Students interested in Adult Basic Education (ABE), GED-prep, and Career Courses take the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE). The TABE is a multiple choice, basic skills assessment that is used to determine strengths you have to support you with completing your chosen CTE program. The TABE measures student achievement in Reading, Language, and Math. It is not a pass or fail test.
