Adult General Education
The OCPS Adult General Education program includes a range of instructional programs that help adults obtain the basic skills they need to be productive workers, family members, and citizens. The major program areas are Adult Basic Education (ABE), and English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL). These programs emphasize basic skills such as reading, writing, math, and English language competency. Adult education programs also help adult learners gain the knowledge and skills they need to enter and succeed in postsecondary education. (The Council on Occupational Education (COE) does not accredit avocational programs such as ESOL,ABE, GED Preparation, and other Adult Education programs In addition, a vocational programs do not qualify for Title IV financial aid assistance.)
